Hello Dolly.

We brought her home with a job in line and that was to protect a pasture of chickens, Kune Kune pigs and Brown Swiss dairy cows. Dolly took to the job immediately and we were so thrilled, that we began our breeding program. Over the years we have continued to expand our pack of livestock guardian dogs in the hopes of further developing an excellent farm asset. As with everything we do on the farm, we want to contribute responsibly.

We breed Pyrenees/Anatolian crosses, (we do have some other livestock guardian breed crosses) and soon, pure bred Sarplaninacs. Additionally, we also have some lines of Colorado Mountain Dogs. Our CMD’s are currently registered under the Colorado Mountain Dog Registry. Our dogs are not just any old livestock guardian dog. They are bred and selected based on careful temperament evaluation as well as the ability to work as a pup. They are bred to be excellent with their humans, happy with their animals and an instinct to protect their herd. To see the working breeds perfect something that is so unique, is truly amazing.

Dolly, now our retired matriarch, has won the hearts of many…especially mine. She has a familiar soul and her demeanor changes the mood of the entire pasture. The chickens feel comfortable around her and the pigs can sense her gentle energy. Albeit, she is no pushover. She helps us train pups and keep them in line. This girl is one for the books. We love growing out the pups and seeing more of these excellent dogs enter into our portion of Southwest Colorado.
